Chris Simms is a crime writer best known for his series of Manchester-based novels featuring Detective Inspector Jon Spicer. One of these novels, Savage Moon, was shortlisted for the Theakston’s Crime Novel of the Year Award in 2009. Chris has also been selected by Waterstone’s as one of their ‘25 authors of the future expected to produce the most impressive body of work over the next quarter century’. His more recent work features a new detective, Detective Constable Iona Khan, struggling for acceptance in the male-dominated Counter Terrorism Unit of Greater Manchester Police. As well as writing crime fiction, Chris has also worked in advertising as a freelance copywriter.
