Elliott Hudson College are setting up a mentoring scheme ('The Aspire Programme') between their college students and university students, and are looking for Volunteer Mentors.
The Aspire programme will assist with enabling college students to gain the support they require in order to make well informed decisions regarding their future. Student volunteers will meet with their mentee on 3 separate occasions and lead structured sessions focusing on three key areas. These will include aspects such as; university life, opportunities that arise (i.e. study abroad, work placements, and industry years), and helping them to navigate through UCAS and exploring potential courses.
Training will be provided and will be an excellent opportunity to gain mentoring and leadership skills as part of the role.
Key Dates:
1-2 hour training session in mid-October
W/C 21st Nov: Mentor Session 1 @ Elliott Hudson College
W/C 20th Feb: Mentor Session 2 @ Leeds Beckett (plus campus tour of unviersity)
W/C 13th April: Mentor Session 3 @ TBC
