If you're a final year student who is thinking of your next steps after graduation, then you may be considering routes into teaching. Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) programmes are a popular route in England, combining academic study with a minimum of 24 weeks on school placements, while you train towards your Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recommendation. Applications are open for September/October 2018 starts, so we wanted to let you know of two organisations offering courses that may be right for you. Bradford College is offering a range of subjects including (but definitely not limited to) primary level teaching and secondary level computer science, biology, chemistry, religious education, modern foreign languages and health and social care. Meanwhile, Forge Teaching School Alliance, in partnership with Sheffield Hallam, provides bespoke training sessions delivered by specialists and practitioners from schools to fully prepare to teach across the Primary age-range.

If you're after a comprehensive list of PGCE courses across the country, then UCAS is your place to go. Information on entry requirements, funding and how to apply can also be found on their website alongside a number of informative videos to help you make the right choice for you.

And remember, the Student and Graduate Futures team is also on hand to guide you through your career planning process. If you're unsure of where to start, then our team would be happy to talk through your options. Additionally, if this is the right path for you and you would like support in constructing your application then you can book appointments here, email the team at careers@leedsbeckett.ac.uk or give us a call on 0113 812 5995.
