Leeds Beckett Students’ Union exists to represent and support each and every one of the 25,000 students that study here at Leeds Beckett. To do this effectively, we pride ourselves on having strong student leadership in place to influence and direct the work we do to improve the lives of students on campus, in the local community, and on a national level.

Each year, we hold elections to decide who will take up these important leadership roles. Every Leeds Beckett student is eligible to stand and vote in these elections, which decide the membership of both the Exec Officer team and the Student Council. The Exec Officer team is made up of five full-time, paid roles – which are the SU President, VP Education, VP Welfare and Community, VP Equality and Diversity and VP Activities. The Student Council consists of a range of part-time, voluntary roles that ensure that the diverse range of students at Leeds Beckett are represented effectively within the Students’ Union.

If this sounds like it might be for you, read on – the pages below contain all the information you need about the roles up for grabs, how to put yourself forward, what will be involved, as well as all the associated benefits for you and for all our students.

Beef up your CV to stand out to future employers

The skills and experience you will gain from both full-time and part-time roles will really make you stand out from the crowd when you are seeking the next step in your graduate career. It is becoming increasingly essential for graduates to show that they have been involved in some kind of voluntary role alongside their studies, or that they can offer a good level of prior work experience.
