How do I advertise my role?

All roles will be advertised on Career Hub & Beckett Connect – these are our internal jobs board which is accessible to all current students and recent graduates. We can also support with promotion of the role through targeted emails to specific student & graduate groups and sharing with the academic teams of specific courses.

Is there a cost involved in advertising my role?

No. Advertising is free for the employer and all further promotion by our team, including social media is free of charge.

Can I advertise more than one under the scheme?

Yes as long as they are distinct roles and only one graduate per role is recruited.

Can any business take advantage of the scheme?

Yes as long as your opportunity is highly skilled (we can advise on this), meets our minimum wage criteria and is a newly created development opportunity for graduates.

If I take the graduate on after the minimum term of 3 months, can I get more funding?

No – you can only receive funding for the same role and graduate on one occasion

Does the graduate get the funding or the company?

The company – to help pay the salary of the graduate or to support with any costs incurred in recruitment. For example, the purchase of equipment required for the role.

Can I hire any Graduate?

In order to be eligible for the funding you must hire a Leeds Beckett graduate who completed their undergraduate degree within the last 15 months.

How many applicants can I expect?

We cannot guarantee a specific level of interest in your opportunity. However, please be assured that we are continually working on ways to enhance our communication and outreach methods in order to help to generate a good level of interest in your roles.

What if the graduate leaves before the end of the internship?

We will help you to re-recruit a graduate into the role. Only if you did not re-recruit a graduate would we ask for you to return the remainder of the bursary (pro rota).

At what point is the bursary paid?

The bursary funding will be transferred to you once the graduate is recruited and the agreement is signed.

What happens if I need to terminate the contract of the graduate earlier than the minimum term?

Any outstanding bursary payment will be reclaimed on a pro-rata basis.
