What is the Progression Check In?
The Progression Check In is an important step towards becoming and LBU graduate. It's a short survey that we ask our final year students to complete between March and June, before you graduate. The Progression Check In takes less than five minutes to complete and will ask you some short questions about your life after LBU including whether you've secured graduate-level work or further study, are taking some time out or need some support with your next steps. We also use the Progression Check In to understand where our graduates are heading next to ensure we're working with the right employers to help you secure jobs.
Why should I complete the Progression Check In?
The Progression Check In is your gateway to accessing support with your career for up to five years. By completing the Progression Check In you will:
- get access to timely and tailored advice and guidance about your next steps.
- inspire other students, showcasing the exciting and diverse careers pathways of LBU graduates.
- ensure you can stay in touch with LBU and receive support for up to five years.
- help to shape our career support offer.
- be entered in to our prize draw to win one of 50 amazon vouchers worth £50.
What career support can I access as an LBU graduate?
We offer LBU graduates career support for up to five years after graduation as part of our graduate promise. This means that as a new LBU graduate you can continue to access everything you were able to access as a student, including:

I need some help with my career, what should I do?
Many graduates finish university still unsure of what they want to do, it's perfectly normal to feel like this. We're here to help and suggest these three simple steps:
- Complete the Progression Check In. On completion we will automatically send you an email with some suggested next steps for you based on where you are in your career journey.
- Visit the Careers Centre. We're open from 1pm to 4pm on weekdays during term-time. You'll receive a friendly welcome from one of our Beckett Careers experts who will talk to you about where you're at, how you're feeling and what steps you can take to move forward with your career.
